It’s been a busy few weeks at Configly HQ (okay, my home office), and I wanted to share where we are and where we’re heading.

The Short Version

Configly is moving from pre-launch to closed beta testing. If you’ve been waiting to try it, your time is almost here.

What We’ve Built

Configly now syncs 8 Zendesk configuration types:

  • Triggers
  • Automations
  • Macros
  • Views
  • Ticket Fields
  • User Fields
  • Organisation Fields
  • SLA Policies

That’s 77 configuration items across a typical Zendesk instance, all captured, versioned, and ready for comparison.

The Core Features

Snapshot your entire Zendesk setup – One click, and you’ve got a complete record of how your instance is configured right now.

Compare changes over time – See exactly what changed between two snapshots. No more “who touched that trigger?” detective work.

Understand dependencies – Before you delete that custom field, see which triggers and automations rely on it.

Sign in with Google or Microsoft – No more passwords to remember. Connect in seconds.

Documentation Ready

We’ve been building out comprehensive documentation covering everything from connecting your first Zendesk instance to understanding the dependency mapping feature. This will launch alongside the beta.

What’s Coming in Closed Beta

The beta programme will focus on real-world testing with real Zendesk admins. Here’s what we’re looking for:

Feedback on the sync coverage – Are we capturing everything you need? What’s missing?

Edge cases – Every Zendesk instance is configured differently. We want to find the weird ones.

Workflow validation – Does Configly actually save you time? How does it fit into your existing processes?

Beta Perks

  • Early access before public launch
  • Direct input into the product roadmap
  • Founder-level pricing when we launch

The Bigger Picture

If you’re managing Zendesk without Enterprise (and the £169/agent/month price tag that comes with it), you know the pain:

  • No sandbox to test changes safely
  • No version history beyond “it was different yesterday”
  • No way to roll back when something breaks

Configly is building the configuration management layer that Zendesk should have included. Enterprise features without the Enterprise pricing.

What’s Next

Over the coming weeks:

  1. Site update – The marketing site is getting refreshed with clearer messaging and beta signup
  2. Beta invites – If you’re on the waitlist, you’ll hear from us soon
  3. More object types – We’re already planning expansion beyond the initial 8

Join the Beta

If you haven’t signed up yet, join the waitlist and you’ll be first in line when we open the doors.

And if you’re already on the list – thank you. Your patience is about to pay off.
